3. When it comes to your health and well-being: Walmart is invading an uncharted territory. 

Yes, the famous discount store is set to host Walmart Wellness Day on Sept 23. 4,700 locations across the country will participate according to a news release.

This free health screening event offers local residents with blood glucose screenings, blood pressure screenings, body mass index screenings and low-cost immunizations administered by health professionals. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This will be the second Walmart Wellness Day for which the company has teamed up with the American Diabetes Association to provide support beyond event day, offering additional support to customers whose screening results indicate a risk of developing type 2 diabetes, the release said.

News–to–me. If you are not fond of working out, you may be allergic (what?). According to Metro PCS, exercise-induced anaphylaxis is a very real illness brought on by combining exercise with food or other triggers.

Flushed skin. Heavy breathing. Profuse sweating. These are all things that happen with intense exercise or an allergic reaction, but having an allergy to exercise? That’s just what people say to get out of a workout…..

He says that years ago, he developed an exercise he’s used after every one of them — even the all-day events that stretch long past their scheduled endings.

“Two in the morning, four in the morning, haven’t slept, my body’s hurting — the first thing I do when I get off stage, and I’ve done it for 40 years, literally, is I sit down with my team with a recorder and we say, ‘What was great?'” Robbins recently told the winners of the Shopify Build a Bigger Business competition, at an event at his Fiji resort Namale. “And then, ‘What could be better?’ Because there’s always something that could be better.” He also makes sure to answer “why” for both of these questions…..

If you would ask me “who is your healthy eating role model?” I don’t think the answer will be Opray (Opray I love you but it’s true. You are the last person I would want get healthy eating advice). I mean the woman had been on her weight rollercoaster all her life and she even admitted eating macaron and cheese for breakfast.

Apparently, there are some ladies out there trying Oprah’s diet. Oh, Jenny Craig may be?

Yes, Queen O is Jenny Craig’s spokesperson. I get that now–ok. But still, that’s frozen food. Need I say more on this?

Someone at SHAPE has a word for us about eating like Oprah for a week….

You might be worried that your canine buddy won’t let you get any quality sleep. Thankfully, a new study from the Mayo Clinic puts this question to rest – it’s ok to let the dog sleep in the bedroom but keep it out of your bed.

I just learned Vogue speaks. Who knew it? I thought Vogue is about skinny mannequins photos who are in designers’ outfits and seems to haven’t slept for 72 hours.

10. Let’s cook something healthy and eat:
Caramelized sweet potatoes and peaches brought to you by Daphne Oz

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp organic coconut oil, melted
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup, room temperature (if it is cold, the coconut oil will solidify on contact)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Iodized salt
  • 1 medium sweet potato, scrubbed and cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 2 medium peaches, pitted and sliced into 4 wedges each
  • 1 medium sweet onion, peeled and quartered

Directions

Preheat the oven to 450°F.

In a small bowl, whisk the coconut oil, syrup, cinnamon and salt. Put the potato and peaches in 2 separate bowls. Pour three-quarters of the syrup mixture over the sweet potato and one-quarter over the peaches and toss. Spread the potato in an even layer in a large baking dish and roast for 10 minutes. Toss the potato and roast for 5 minutes more. Add the onion and roast for 15 minutes. Toss the potato and onion, add the peaches in an even layer and roast 10 minutes, or until the potato and onion are fork tender and the peaches have caramelized.

I’m sorry ladies. The idea was to make a grown-ups meal but I run out of time. I figured something is better than nothing. Read this: with this recipe, you get 2 servings and only 281 calories. Now if you will excuse me.
