It’s almost never fails that I make an acai bowl at least every the weekend. It has become such a regular routine that I often joke about how I need to create an Instagram account solely dedicated to them. The fun part is picking the toppings. Pile on the strawberries, bananas, mango, kiwi, a drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of chia seeds or dried goji berries, spoonful of granola and shredded coconut. The acai bowls options are nearly endless, and up to you!

What can I say? When I get hooked on something, it sticks around for a while. Açaí bowls are a tasty way to begin your day with a healthy breakfast, or as a quick afternoon fuel. Let’s eat!

1 packet of frozen acai (I’ve used Samzabon)
½ cup frozen blueberries
½ cup of coconut water
½ cup plain Greek yogurt (optional, but great for added creaminess!)

Blend the above ingredients until the consistency is smooth, but still thick and creamy. A tip to help prevent a too thin smoothie like consistency is to add the liquid gradually until you achieve your preferred thickness.
Pour your blended acai into a bowl.
Add toppings of your choice. I like to add a half a banana sliced, unsweetened shredded coconut, chia seeds, and hemp seeds to add a crunch.

Serve right away and enjoy!
