Miuccia Prada does not rush to do things just because it’s expected. Given the success of Miu Miu it has taken a while for a fragrance to happen but happily it has been worth the wait. Launching into Harrods this month the perfume, called simply Miu Miu, is a contemporary green floral which we have been reaching for every morning since first spritz.
For the juice, the house turned to perfumer Daniela Andrier who has been the perfumer of choice at Prada for many years. The traditional florals, including rose, jasmine and lily of the valley, feel full and voluptuous and are blended with synthetic green notes to add a sense of energy to the fragrance. Wearing it, the scent feels like it actually moves rather than just hanging static around you like a thin veil. There are base notes of woods including an extract of patchouli called Akigalawood which ground the fragrance so it does not feel one-dimensional but the scent does not turn dark or deep. The scent is a great fit with the pop aesthetic of the aqua bottle, reflecting the brand’s signature matelassé textured accessories. It is a great day-time perfume and, as if we needed another reason, a great way to wear more Miu Miu.
